Wheeler's at Boston's annual Skillshare!

Hey everyone!

All Boston-area ice cream fans, this is for you guys! Wheeler's will be giving away free ice cream at this year's Boston Skillshare happening this weekend. Though the Skillshare will be going on all weekend, Wheeler will be bring his icy treats on Sunday, during the lunch hour.

This is an excellent event that we are lucky enough to have each year, and the organizing collective are fantastic. There will be more than 50 workshops teaching all kinds of skills that you can take home and use in your everyday life, and all for a donation of $3-10, on a sliding scale.

Everyone who is able to attend absolutely should, because it's a great experience. Plus, you know, free lunch and dessert!

Hello there, gentle vegans and ice cream lovers! Following up with yesterday's post about our upcoming Brooklyn event, here's some awesome news and details about our party happening in Boston on this Monday.

Boston is our home base and is where our official ice cream lounge will (finally!) open its doors for business. We know we've been hinting about the shop and keeping quiet about where it's going to be, but we're finally spilling the beans.

Since our location is still under construction, we're going to be changing our Oscar theme to a Construction and Building theme to celebrate the process and labor of building something as awesome as a vegan ice cream shoppe. Continuing with this idea, and since we literally couldn't have gotten even to this point without the incredible support from our vegan ice cream loving friends, we're asking that attendees to the party show up dressed like those builders, construction workers, and architects who are so vital to creating a physical community, but so rarely celebrated. We're talking jeans, work boots, and hey, if you've got a neon vest or hard hat, that's some serious bonus points.

But just so you know, while dress-up is optional, those who humor us on this one will be getting a cool vegan goody box. So, why not?

Also, two of our favorite vegan bakers and business ladies are going to be rounding out the menu with an assortment of delicious treats: The Concious Kitchen's Emilie and BabyCakes NYC founder Erin McKenna (click here for her press page) will be serving up their fantastic baked goods and adding about 1000 awesome points to the whole affair. Really, how could you possibly miss this?

Where? The future location of the nation's very first vegan-centric ice cream shoppe, Wheeler's Frozen Desserts: 334B Massachusetts Avenue, just blocks from either the Symphony station on the Green line and the Mass Ave stop on the Orange line.
When? Monday, February 25th, from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.
How do I...? No reservations required! Just come on by; by the T, take a Green E line train to Symphony, and walk down Mass Ave away from the Christian Science Center; from the Orange Line, get out at Mass Ave, and take a left up Mass Ave towards Huntington Avenue, away from the South End. We're on Mass Ave by St. Botolph Street. To drive, you'll want to mapquest the address to find the best route.

This is going to be a great event and should be lots of fun. Plus, you get an exclusive first peek at Wheeler's Frozen Desserts's new digs. See you there! And don't forget to wear your steel-toed boots!

UPDATE: Oscar Weekend Party in Brooklyn!

OK, so we told you back in this post that we were throwing a weekend-long Oscar party at the end of this month. New Yorkers, those nearby, and those enthusiastic enough to make the trip out to the city, this is for you. So look lively.

On Sunday, February 24th, we will be holding our ultimate event in Brooklyn, at the Ad Hoc Art Gallery, which has kindly agreed to host us. It's going to be a memorable time for all.

We have joining us, our Guest Star, Hannah Kaminsky, (who is also one of our bloggy friends over at BitterSweet Blog) author of the brand new and highly acclaimed My Sweet Vegan. She is awesome. She's so awesome, she's going to make us a small selection of her fantastic and legendary cakes/cookies/crumblies to compliment our creamy confections. Yeah, we're stoked.

AND! For the first time ever, this Wheeler's bash will have DJ JT from Philadelphia spinning fresh tunes throughout the party.

New Event in Boston TOMORROW!

Hey guys,

Sorry for the late notice, but if you're in Boston (or one of our neighbors), and you've got some free time tomorrow, Saturday February 2nd, any time between Noon and 6pm, there's going to be an awesome ice cream & vegan pastry party at Fiore's Bakery. These guys are fantastic about vegan pastries, so if you can make it, you definitely should.

New Event! Sweet Avenue Bakeshop teams up with Wheeler's

Hello dessert fans! We just wanted to let you know that we're adding another tasting party to our weekend-long Oscar party! We will be operating in conjunction with Sweet Avenue Bakeshop in Rutherford, NJ, on February 23rd for a series of ice cream tastings. Be sure to mark your calendars and, because space is limited, reserve your spot in advance!

NYC Meet & Eat - February!

Hi again everyone! If you are anywhere in the vicinity of New York, this is for you: get out your calendars, Slingshots, PDAs, whatever you use to keep track of your oh-so-busy social lives and reserve the afternoon of Sunday, February 24th.

That's right! Wheeler and several coolers full of his famous vegan treats will be returning to the city for another ice cream social. Hopefully this time the weather won't be so very chilly.

We don't have a location for this event yet, because we're on the lookout for one. If you know of a space that can accommodate 50-60 people, and that is preferably in Manhattan or Brooklyn, please tell us! Your basement, a gazebo somewhere warm, just let us know!

Hey guys! We had a total blast in New York this weekend, but we're super excited now to be gearing up for our hometown party in Boston tomorrow night. The space is awesome (and will certainly accommodate everyone) and we've got lots of flavors for everyone to try.

We're going to stress (again) that everyone who plans on attending let us know. This is because we really don't want to run out of ice cream. Do your part to prevent an ice cream tragedy today!

Hello vegan ice cream fans!

There will be a vegan ice cream tasting coming up in New York just for all you chocoholics. That's right, there will be several different varieties of vegan chocolate ice cream (including Wheeler's favorite, chocolate chocolate chip, and some vanilla and pumpkin flavors for those who aren't feeling the chocolate love) all put together in a lovely little tasting party held at Little Cakes art gallery (Check out some of their press here and here). According to Papermag Arts, "Hanna Fushihara Aron came to terms with her antiestablishment concerns by deciding to do good business. And even if the business she runs is out of the ground-floor railroad apartment that she shares with her husband, artist David Aron, and several animals, her gallery Little Cakes has lofty ideals."

Drop on by if you can, 'cause even though this gallery is notoriously tiny, the more the merrier when there's ice cream at stake!
