Wheeler's at Boston's annual Skillshare!

Hey everyone!

All Boston-area ice cream fans, this is for you guys! Wheeler's will be giving away free ice cream at this year's Boston Skillshare happening this weekend. Though the Skillshare will be going on all weekend, Wheeler will be bring his icy treats on Sunday, during the lunch hour.

This is an excellent event that we are lucky enough to have each year, and the organizing collective are fantastic. There will be more than 50 workshops teaching all kinds of skills that you can take home and use in your everyday life, and all for a donation of $3-10, on a sliding scale.

Everyone who is able to attend absolutely should, because it's a great experience. Plus, you know, free lunch and dessert!

Hello vegan ice cream lovers! Boston Magazine just published an article all about us and how we plan on getting the world to go vegan one person at a time with our frozen desserts. Take a look...

"To the uninitiated, vegan ice cream might sound like a sorry substitute à la spelt bread or Tofurkey—a consolation prize for restricted eaters. But a bite of Wheeler's Black Label vegan ice cream in flavors like rich chocolate and boozy piña colada may call your pro-dairy leanings into question..."

We're very excited about getting such great press, and especially in a magazine of this caliber. If you enjoy seeing vegan companies get this kind of attention, please, don't hesitate to read the entire article on their site and make comments there! We've been told by a few people that there's just no widespread interest in "specialty" products like ours, which is ridiculous, because everyone loves ice cream (Seriously, have you tried the Mexican Chocolate?). We want mainstream, non-vegan-centric publications to know that vegans read their magazines, and that there really is interest in vegan products and companies.

Also in that vein, as always, please pass this article along to any and all your friends that you know support animal rights, vegan business, independent business, the vegan lifestyle, etc. Let's get a buzz going, and soon there will be no doubt in any publisher's mind: yes, readers absolutely do want to know about vegan happenings and developments.

Wow! We sure had a fantastic time at our hometown event last night. Everything went off without a hitch, and attendance was excellent! We want to thank everyone who helped make our construction party such a success: those who came, saw, and conquered their craving for the perfect vegan ice cream! We had such a good turnout, and we really appreciate your presence at our little gatherings.

We are also so very grateful to The Conscious Kitchen's Emilie for providing those delicious cookies. They were perfect! You've always been so good to us, and we're so glad you're around.

We hope everyone had a blast as well! And we definitely hope we'll be seeing your smiling vegan faces in the shop again when it opens. :)

UPDATE: Boston Party this Monday, February 25th!

Hello there, gentle vegans and ice cream lovers! Following up with yesterday's post about our upcoming Brooklyn event, here's some awesome news and details about our party happening in Boston on this Monday.

Boston is our home base and is where our official ice cream lounge will (finally!) open its doors for business. We know we've been hinting about the shop and keeping quiet about where it's going to be, but we're finally spilling the beans.

Since our location is still under construction, we're going to be changing our Oscar theme to a Construction and Building theme to celebrate the process and labor of building something as awesome as a vegan ice cream shoppe. Continuing with this idea, and since we literally couldn't have gotten even to this point without the incredible support from our vegan ice cream loving friends, we're asking that attendees to the party show up dressed like those builders, construction workers, and architects who are so vital to creating a physical community, but so rarely celebrated. We're talking jeans, work boots, and hey, if you've got a neon vest or hard hat, that's some serious bonus points.

But just so you know, while dress-up is optional, those who humor us on this one will be getting a cool vegan goody box. So, why not?

Also, two of our favorite vegan bakers and business ladies are going to be rounding out the menu with an assortment of delicious treats: The Concious Kitchen's Emilie and BabyCakes NYC founder Erin McKenna (click here for her press page) will be serving up their fantastic baked goods and adding about 1000 awesome points to the whole affair. Really, how could you possibly miss this?

And at last! The details!

Where? The future location of the nation's very first vegan-centric ice cream shoppe, Wheeler's Frozen Desserts: 334B Massachusetts Avenue, just blocks from either the Symphony station on the Green line and the Mass Ave stop on the Orange line.
When? Monday, February 25th, from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.
How do I...? No reservations required! Just come on by; by the T, take a Green E line train to Symphony, and walk down Mass Ave away from the Christian Science Center; from the Orange Line, get out at Mass Ave, and take a left up Mass Ave towards Huntington Avenue, away from the South End. We're on Mass Ave by St. Botolph Street. To drive, you'll want to mapquest the address to find the best route.

This is going to be a great event and should be lots of fun. Plus, you get an exclusive first peek at Wheeler's Frozen Desserts's new digs. See you there! And don't forget to wear your steel-toed boots!

New Event in Boston TOMORROW!

Hey guys,

Sorry for the late notice, but if you're in Boston (or one of our neighbors), and you've got some free time tomorrow, Saturday February 2nd, any time between Noon and 6pm, there's going to be an awesome ice cream & vegan pastry party at Fiore's Bakery. These guys are fantastic about vegan pastries, so if you can make it, you definitely should.

Where? Fiore's Bakery: 55 South Street, Jamaica Plain, MA. They can be reached at 617-524-9200 if you get lost or something.
When? Tomorrow, Saturday February 2nd, from 12pm to 6pm.
Notes: You don't have to RSVP, there will be no charge (unless you want to buy some of their delicious baked goods or coffee), and it's going to be sunny out. Good times shall be had by all.

Try Wheeler's Black Label Vegan Ice Cream's delicious new flavors NOW AVAILABLE at Bob's Southern Bistro! Located at 604 Columbus Avenue, Boston, Bob's Southern Bistro will be selling two of our brand new, autumn-inspired flavors Sweet Potato and Butternut Squash. We are so excited to be finally available to all of the vegan ice cream lovers in Boston and the New England area! Enjoy!

Boston Vegetarian Food Fest - WOW!

Hey all,

Wheeler's Black Label Vegan Ice Cream launched a couple days ago by participating in the Boston Vegetarian Food Festival this past Saturday. We had such an amazing response and we're thankful for the support of everyone who stopped by - especially those who went home and blogged about us later!

We also wanted to let people know that Wheeler's will be scooping up our awesome signature flavors at MASSMARKET on Sunday, October 28 (from 10AM-5PM) at MassArt. The first 50 folks to stop by our booth will get a free kiddie-size cup of our chef's choice of delicious dessert.
