"If you are an ice cream enthusiast like myself, you will love The Vegan Scoop by Wheeler Del Torro! This book is not only filled with great dairy free ice cream recipes, it is loaded with great recipes to go with all of the ice creams you will make ... "

Need an ice cream maker?

Ebay has a bunch of Cuisinart ICE-20 (and other) ice cream makers to bid on that work perfectly with recipes found in The Vegan Scoop. Some are new but a lot are only used once or twice and still in great condition. They're priced at about $33 including shipping, compared to bought new at $49.00 in stores. To take advantage of this deal, enter in your address bar and search "cuisinart ice cream makers." Enjoy!

ATTN: Boston Friends! Seminar Dinner at Grasshopper with Wheeler del Torro and The Boston Vegetarian Society!

Hi everyone, we know this is short notice but we'd like to announce an upcoming event for our readers located in Boston. This Sunday, August 16th, Wheeler del Torro will be speaking at the BVS Grasshopper Dinner & Seminar! It should be a really great event -- plus who can turn down Grasshopper's amazing all-vegan dinner? Here's is more information about the event:

It's August and we all scream for ice cream -- the incomparable Wheeler's Black Label Vegan Ice Cream! We'll make ice cream before your eyes, and everyone will get a free tasting!

Our presenter will be Wheeler del Torro, founder and owner of Wheeler's Frozen Dessert Company, and author of the recently released book, The Vegan Scoop. The folks at Wheeler's microcreamery are not just ice cream makers, they are ice cream designers, creating a seemingly unlimited number of flavors, both traditional and highly exotic and original, using a base of soy, coconut, rice or almond milk.

Wheeler del Torro learned to create his delicious, healthy vegan ice cream in Paris, inspired by the great Parisian Berthillon ice cream shop. He has traveled the world exploring cultures, languages, people and food, which has allowed him to stretch his culinary skills beyond traditional thinking. Wheeler will share with us the history of how he got involved in ice cream, desserts, and the vegan culture, his work in catering, and his adventures touring with several performers.

Wheeler's book, "The Vegan Scoop, 150 Recipes for Dairy-Free Ice Cream That Tastes Better Than the 'Real' Thing" will be available for sale and signing. This book, with 40 full color photos, brings the pleasures of the ice cream shop into the home with 150 rich and creamy recipes for frozen desserts featuring all vegan-certified ingredients.

Stay and enjoy Grasshopper's delicious unlimited vegan buffet for only $9.50+ tax + tip
Includes appetizers, soups, salad, numerous entrees, and fresh melons.

Wheeler's Frozen Dessert Co. Featured in the Dayton Daily News!

Hi everyone! We've received a great review for our vegan ice cream in the Dayton Daily News! Vick Mickunas was kind enough to sample some of our ice cream and write up a glowing article about us.

" ... Ice cream is a rare treat at my house. Perhaps twice a month I enjoy a few scoops of that delectable stuff. Call it a guilty pleasure.

What makes ice cream taste so darned good? The flavors are important. The textures really add to the esthetic joy of devouring a big bowl of it. And I have always felt that the quality of the cream in the ice cream is essential. Would you agree?

How can you make good ice cream without cream (or any dairy product)? I didn’t think it was possible. I’m wrong ..."
