Thank You New York!

We want to thank everyone who showed up to our party in Brooklyn yesterday! We had a great time getting a chance to meet you all, and appreciate your support.

We also really want to thank Hannah Kaminsky again for her work preparing treats for this event, and being so awesome with her support and reviews ('Scuse me, but I think hers is the first review for Ginger!). You are wonderful!

Check here for updates on Wheeler's events in New York in the future!

UPDATE: Oscar Weekend Party in Brooklyn!

OK, so we told you back in this post that we were throwing a weekend-long Oscar party at the end of this month. New Yorkers, those nearby, and those enthusiastic enough to make the trip out to the city, this is for you. So look lively.

On Sunday, February 24th, we will be holding our ultimate event in Brooklyn, at the Ad Hoc Art Gallery, which has kindly agreed to host us. It's going to be a memorable time for all.

We have joining us, our Guest Star, Hannah Kaminsky, (who is also one of our bloggy friends over at BitterSweet Blog) author of the brand new and highly acclaimed My Sweet Vegan. She is awesome. She's so awesome, she's going to make us a small selection of her fantastic and legendary cakes/cookies/crumblies to compliment our creamy confections. Yeah, we're stoked.

AND! For the first time ever, this Wheeler's bash will have DJ JT from Philadelphia spinning fresh tunes throughout the party.

Here are the details:

Where: The Ad Hoc Art Gallery:
49 Bogart St, Unit 1G, Buzzer #22 / Brooklyn, NY
When: Sunday, February 24th, at 1:30pm.
How do I get there? Taken from the Ad Hoc Art Gallery's website:

"[We are located] next to The Archive coffee shop and Brooklyn's Natural grocery. We are one short block from the Bogart St. exit of the Morgan Ave. stop on the "L" train. Our front is painted red, you can't miss it.

DIRECTIONS

VIA SUBWAY:

Take L train to Morgan Avenue stop (6th stop into Brooklyn).
Exit at rear of train (coming from Manhattan) through the Bogart St. exit. When you exit the station you are on Bogart St. Turn Right and walk one block, crossing Seigel, to 49 Bogart.

VIA CAR:
Mapquest the addy or call us, the streets are screwy out in the wild west (e.g.- Flushing has been under construction for years). We are east of Bushwick Ave., west of Morgan Ave., just norht of Flushing Ave., and south of Metropolitan Ave."

If you get lost, you can get in touch by calling Wheeler, at 617-216-9087, or the folks at Ad Hoc at 718-366-2466.

Be there!

NYC Meet & Eat - February!

Hi again everyone! If you are anywhere in the vicinity of New York, this is for you: get out your calendars, Slingshots, PDAs, whatever you use to keep track of your oh-so-busy social lives and reserve the afternoon of Sunday, February 24th.

That's right! Wheeler and several coolers full of his famous vegan treats will be returning to the city for another ice cream social. Hopefully this time the weather won't be so very chilly.

We don't have a location for this event yet, because we're on the lookout for one. If you know of a space that can accommodate 50-60 people, and that is preferably in Manhattan or Brooklyn, please tell us! Your basement, a gazebo somewhere warm, just let us know!

Special Thanks

Our thanks to Hanna Fushihara Aron and her husband cannot be emphatic enough. We are eternally grateful to you for all your help in organizing our event yesterday, and for being so patient even though it was so very crowded.

All our readers are encouraged to visit Little Cakes often for new exhibits. Gorgeous, thoughtful, and joyful art? Yes ma'am!

WOW! Thank you, New York!

Hi again! We were totally blown away by the amazing number of people who came to our ice cream party yesterday in New York. THANK YOU GUYS! Somewhere around 200 people showed up (kudos to the 70 or so who actually RSVP'd!) and braved the windy, chilly weather. It was about 24°F, and you guys came to eat ice cream? Now that's some love.

It was a party to remember, for sure. Next time, we're going to try to organize some better way of reserving spots and time slots, so everyone gets a proper taste. More info on that as our next meetup approaches, which will be some time in February.

Speaking of our next meetup, we would be ever so grateful if you toddled on over to Meetup.com and joined one of our meetup groups. There's only ones up for now for Boston and NYC, but they're absolutely the best way to get all the details on what's going on, when, and gives us a much more accurate idea of how many people to expect (and therefore, how much ice cream to bring to events). Just plug in "vegan" for interest and your (Massachusetts or New York) zipcode to find us. Bonus! Find other cool groups in your area!

And hey, if anyone has pictures from the event, could you please send some to us? We'll post them here and totally give you proper due. icecreamproject2007@yahoo.com, guys.

And last, but absolutely not least, we want to thank Hanna for all her help and generously letting us throw our party in her space. She is definitely a candidate for vegan sainthood, and we really do appreciate everything she's done for us. Thanks, Hanna! You're the coolest ever.

Wheeler's at the New York Meet-up

We loved the New York Meet-up! Thanks so much to the people who came out and met with us yesterday. We really hope you enjoyed our ice cream. We're still working hard to get our product available in restaurants in stores, but hopefully with all of your support, it will finally happen. Thanks again!

Wheeler's on Supervegan.com

We're headed up to NYC tomorrow to speak to many, many restaurant owners in hopes of getting our ice cream to the New Yorkers! Wish us the best of luck and check out this great blog Jason Das posted about us on SuperVegan:

Wheeler's Black Label Ice Cream In New York City!
by Jason Das

Well, potentially. They're talking to a big long list of local restaurants. Hopefully all these places (and more) will decide to carry the stuff. Wheeler's is the best vegan ice cream I've ever tasted.

Wheeler's is now available at Bob's Southern Bistro in Boston, and they're working on distribution elsewhere in Beantown as well as in Providence (yay Julian's!), and Vermont.

If you know anyone responsible for buying at any restaurants, do yourself (and the rest of us) a huge favor and ask them to carry Wheeler's Black Label Ice Cream!

Thanks Jason!
