Eryka Badu Plans to "Do It At Home" with The Vegan Scoop

Author and vegan chef Wheeler del Torro presents Erykah Badu with a copy of his latest recipe book, The Vegan Scoop (Fair Winds Press/June 2009/$19.99 paperback) during a chance meeting in Brooklyn last weekend. “I heard she was looking for a great vegan ice cream so I shipped her over 15 samples earlier this year,” said del Torro. Badu, a vegetarian for over 20 years and a vegan for 10, became an instant fan of del Torro’s “faux” creams made of soy and nut milk blends and 100 percent vegan-certified ingredients. “I love this ice cream,” said Badu of Wheelers Frozen Deserts. “I can’t wait to make it at home.”
